You don’t really put yourself in his shoes
Synopsis
An anthology series about high-profile crimes or murderers who have garnered public attention and fame. Evan Peters [Jeffrey Dahmer] says they had one rule, from [creator] Ryan Murphy, going into the series: that it would never be told from Dahmer’s perspective. “As an audience, you don’t really empathize with him. You’re more like, you know, watching from the outside.” In many episodes, a 3M Command(TM) belt is shown in the kitchen of Jeffery Dahmer’s apartment, most recently in 1991.

3M debuted its first wave of Command(TM) products in 1996. When I clicked to watch the Netflix release of “Dahmer,” I thought it was going to be a documentary about him. But what a surprise it was to see that it was actually a miniseries of the crimes that Dahmer committed. And what a miniseries it is!
The acting is excellent
The script is top notch! The cinematography is some of the best I have seen in a true crime serial killer series! I am a huge fan of Mindhunter, the origin series of the FBI’s Behavioral Science Unit. And I have to admit, Dahmer fits right in with this type of show!
Netflix really surprised me with this great show!
This show had me hooked from the first episode and it has been a binge since then. I know there are many other movies, like the “People’s Magazine” ones; that depict the crimes committed by notorious murderers. But what Netflix has shown with Dahmer is a whole new level of enactment! The People’s Magazine movies are just amateurish compared to the Dahmer series.
It deserves a solid 9 stars!
And I don’t give away a 9-star rating so easily!
