Positives for Daddio (2024):
The central performances by Dakota Johnson and Sean Penn are very good
This is a movie that builds on the shoulders of these two performances and if the performances don’t work the movie doesn’t work. I was invested in talking about the relationships these characters had with the people they interacted with.
Negatives for Daddio (2024):
While I was invested in the conversations between these two characters, it got boring very quickly
The entire movie is just these two characters talking in a taxi for 90 minutes straight, and while many will enjoy this premise, there will also be many who will be offended by it. Overall, Daddio (2024) is a very good, dialogue-driven movie with great performances from its two leads, and while it is good, it is definitely a movie that tests the audience’s staying power.
