Synopsis

It’s a bit of a stretch to think that all the other cardinals can easily understand him
Sister Agnes: Even though we sisters are supposed to be invisible, God gave us eyes and ears. The film offers a very interesting behind-the-scenes look at the election of a new pope, diving into all the pomp and circumstance. It plays out like a murder mystery, with all the potential “suspects” being eliminated from the election.
job well done
It should have ended with white smoke billowing out as the crowd cheered and Cardinal Lawrence looked heavenward… But no, they had to insert a fantastic and completely irrelevant twist for who knows why (M. Night Shyamalan stopped by the set?).
Show the white smoke!
Go see it for the superb acting and visuals. Hopefully a Director’s Cut will remove this contrived twist. (P.S.
It’s what we’ve all been waiting for)
